Pigger is going to Amsterdam for exchange soon so the pigs decided to meet up again before she leaves next Thursday. We had been discussing about hawker food and thinking of visiting hawker centres like Amoy Street FC/ Old airport road FC when pigger returns. But that would be 4 months plus later! So I suggested the closest hawker to our homes: Tampines round mkt.

I saw the Hakka yong tau foo stall (stall name is 紅 something) that I used to frequent when it was still at Bedok Blk216 FC! Yumm. I love their yong tau foo cos there is a wide selection of yong tau foo pieces, other than the usual fishballs, tau pok, tau hu, bittergourd, fishcakes, green chilli etc.

This kway chap stall is famous, with alot of foodie recommendations plastered over the stall, like the Makansutra one. I strongly believe in the queue theory. The longer the queue, the better the food. And the queue here is never ending. It was around 1pm when we reached, and while we were eating at about 1.30pm or so, the queue just continued to stretch on.

There were about 7-9 bodies queueing before us, and the queue moved quite slowly. When it finally got to us, we ordered a mixture of meat, intestines, tau pok, egg, tau kee enough for 3 people. My brain and ear coordination got addled with the queuing and heat, that I misheard $14.50 for $4.50 and got sneered at by the auntie at the stall. Boo. And the uncle who was in charge of cooking was asking her, "What she heard, what she heard? $4 ah? Aha!" 需要這樣嗎。Alright. I admit I was the brainless party, but they could have been a litttle bit nicer=s.

A spread for 3! Piggy kept craving for pig's skin and braised feng zhua 鳳爪 (chicken feet) but I refused to eat the slimy pig's skin (Piggy claimed it isn't slimy and I just remembered hearing somewhere pig's skin has a lot of collagen), so she settled for a separate order of $1/2 worthed feng zhua. The braised intestines rocked as they had soaked up the rich flavour of the sauce (sadly they didn't have fen chang)! The tau poks weren't too salty either. The generous scoops of savoury sauce over the meat, intestines, egg, tau pok, tau kee.. .. .. Mmmmm. The kways were cut into large portions and kept slipping through my chopsticks, proving its smoothness.

The prices are about the same as the kway chap stall in Bedok Interchange's FC (Blk 207). Didn't get to eat their fen chang, so don't know if they match up with Bedok's~ Despite the queue and the auntie, I will be back to catch the fen changs. If they aren't as good as Bedok's, I will stick to my Bedok kway chap :D.
