I'm back here again in a short span of a few days. This time with P in tow, we only had plans for desserts.

Sesame zenzai. I prefer the sesame ice cream to macha!! The sesame was soo fragrant and yummy.

Mango imo. The sweet potatoes were the same, the ice cream too!! Quality-wise. But macha syrup+red bean paste would be a better choice, cos mango didn't really go that well with the sweet potato/icecream.

Upon 2nd visit, I reconfirmed that I'll be back to try the hot stone rice (after peeking at other patrons' food on nearby tables).

記得吃

This dessert shop is a famous one along Liang Seah street. Lots of people in office wear patronise this shop, so it's very packed during lunch hours. I've seen people doing takeaways too, 5-10 packets at a go. There's another desserts shop called Ah Chew desserts along Liang Seah st/ Purvis st. Shall check it out one day:).

楊枝甘露

Mango in shaved ice with pomelo and grapefruit. An especially refreshing dessert on a hot day. This was so good that although me, my mum, sis and bro were extremely full after a many course Thai lunch, that we finished every drop of it:).

芝麻糊

Sesame paste! I love this hot dessert too. It was smooth and creamy and warmed our stomachs.

Also spotted 算盤子 on the menu! Will be back to try the yam abacus. So far I've only tried disappointing 算盤子s with little yam and lots of flour and dried shrimps.

p.s. Will take note of the prices and shop number when I visit again!

FYI, MOF stands for Ministry of Food, and Izakaya means pub in Japanese.

After hearing ravings about MOF desserts from dear P, decided to go check it out with G and A after a K-ing session. It was dinner time, so we ordered a main course to share, along with 2 ala-cartes and desserts.

Tempura bento set. I couldn't stop eating the rice. I'm a rice person but I've been eating very little rice since jc. Anyway the tempura consisted of prawns, carrot (which looked like sweet potato cos it was huge) and bringal.

Potato croquette (left), Chicken karage (right). I give both the thumbs-up, although the chicken karage looked vsmall unlike the picture on the menu=p.

Zenzai dessert with macha ice cream and red bean. I simply lovee the red beans. YUMMS. This wins Shokudo's hands down. The zenzai (japanese version of plain tang yuans) was chewy and although it was tasteless, it went well with the sweet red bean and bitter macha ice cream.

Macha imo. I'm not very into macha products except the hot green tea itself, but G and A were rather ardent fans. Imo stands for Japanese sweet potato, and the sweet potatoes were served with some red bean paste and a softie which was topped with macha syrup. This blew us away, with the hot sweet potatoes and the cold soft ice cream. The sweet potato was crisp and it melted in our mouths. The ice cream was vvv soft and smooth.

I'm so coming back for the imo and to try other food like the hot stone rice or the ramen:DD.
