Went to watch The Mummy and the Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (which got more and more ridiculous as the story progressed._.) with G&A and settled for some Japanese food at Ichiban Sushi~

We were directed to a seat nowhere near the conveyor belt but that was fine with us since we preferred ordering sushi straight rather than taking from the belt although it's quicker, but it seems less fresh (of course that's just mentality wise cos sometimes the waiters/ waitresses take the sushi plates from the belts too).

I like my hot green tea to go with sushi.

Sushi plates at $2.10 each. Clockwise from top left: Golden catch (fried dory fish), tamago roll (tuna + cucumber wrapped in tamago), rainbow roll (fish roe, tuna, cucumber, ham, egg, mayo), salmon avocado. Rainbow roll looked the most attractive with its promise of many ingredients bundled into one. Actually it's like the california roll except the former has red fish roe surrounding it while this has pink (roe?) and green seaweed around it.

A ordered a salmon sashimi plate at $5.50 (4 pieces). (Forgot to take a picture of it=X) The sashimi slices were on the thin side, but considering the price... ...

Chicken katsu tamago toji at $10.90. You get about 6 pieces of fat juicy chicken katsu soaked in the sauce and topped with soft tamago that melts in your mouth (and some spring onion). Yumm. The chicken katsu is soggy with the egg and sauce but I'm perfectly fine with it, cos that's the way it's supposed to be.

Hotate cheese yaki at $9.90. The cheese rocked with its creaminess. Normally cheese don't go wrong but I remember the katsu cheese at Sakae tasted funny=X. Anyway, this cheese was fabulous. I'd expected huge hotate/scallops inside, but instead I found golden mushrooms 金針菇 and hotate bits in it. The mushrooms were bonuses (or maybe I didn't read the description properly) but greedy me would have liked whole juicy scallops:).

i was expecting big big scallops too, quite disappointing when you can't really munch on the big scallops and when you find yourself chewing on mushrooms instead. Heh. But the cheese was good.
